Thaum Idle is a Single Player Magic themed Idle game with many influences from survival games and RPGs with deep mechanics.  Explore a vast stylised 3D overworld as you discover new materials to gather for materials.  Complete epic dungeons and fight bosses to unlock new areas, while crafting up new gear to progress through the game!

 

Free Alpha Coming Mid December 2025!

Thaum Idle has been in active development since October 1, 2025.  Pre-production for the game started in June 2025.  My goal is to make an Idle/Incremental game with deep RPG mechanics inspired by the progression and gathering/crafting game loops of Survival Games.  I will release a free Alpha download of the game in mid December, and start taking feedback.  More polished Alpha releases will continue in 2026, as I build up the core features of the game.  The first adopters of the game in December will receive the game perpetually for free on Itch.io, but starting 2026 future players will have to donate through Ko-Fi or Patreon for access.

 

Feature-Rich Gameplay with Deep Mechanics

  • 8 Gathering Skills
  • 9 Crafting Skills
  • A Skill Tree Perk System for every skill in the game to customise how you play.
  • Building Upgrades for every skill that you will have to build up over time for progression through the game.
  • Action Queue System.  Queue up actions based on different conditions to automate progression over time.
  • Offline Time System.  Offline time starts relatively small, but upgrades over time, allowing you to only have to check in on the game a once or twice a day.
  • Exploration System.  Explore a stylised 3D World to find new activities, resources, and dungeons to explore.
  • Equipment Progression System.  Each skill in the game has a tool type associated to it that you must upgrade over time to access higher level gathering and crafting abilities.  There is also combat gear, and other accessories to fine tune your play style, and an Equipment Loadout system to make switching gear sets a breeze!
  • Proficiency System.  Every item you gather and craft has a proficiency upgrade system, which increases as you gather or craft specific items.  Raising your proficiency with something will make  you better at gathering or crafting it!
  • Magic System. Discover raw elements and harvest the natural powers of the world to create advanced magical crafts and rituals.
  • Dispatch System.  Send out hired workers in the mid to late game to harvest resources for you.  It serves to take the micromanagement out of the game as  you progress.
  • Combat is a future planned feature after the Gathering and Crafting mechanics are solid
